Romeo the New Car

Alfa Romeo’s Duetto Spider may have shot to fame in 1967 film “The Graduate”, but even this Hollywood endorsement couldn’t stop the car from being axed in 1993. Previous Alfa Romeo CEO Luca de Meo has hinted at bringing back the iconic Alfa Romeo Spider in past, and according to new report a new generation of the spider is being formulated as part of a revitalization programme for the automaker’s again fleet.

All is not well, however, as there has been a freeze put on Alfa Romeo’s future plans until review of the brand is completed in April. If the review unsuccessful, there’s a chance the recently revealedGiulietta hatchback will be the last Alfa Romeo Ever produced.

Part of the expanding Flat Group, Alfa Romeo has suffered massive losses for the past couple of the years and managed to sell just 110,000 cars last year—almost half of what it sold in 2000.

The drum up excitement for the brand, Alfa Romeo is preparino to unveil three striking concept car at next month’s 2010 Geneva Motor Show: a new coupe previewing the replacement for the Brera, A sedan previewing the replacement159 and a convertible concept for a possible new Spider.
