The Americans have beaten the Russians in the space race, in that, the Americans were the first to land a man on the moon. It is a tribute to America that their men took the chance and made a pioneering landing on the moon led by Neil Armstrong.
The high cost of spending millions of dollars has been in vain because the landing on the moon was a small step for man, but a great step for mankind.
Now the have explored the moon several times and the experiments are of immense the knowledge of the solar system and man's ability to be in space. The matter brought from the moon has helped so many things about preserving things for a long a time, about bacteria, their benefits and good. Lunar chemicals have been helping scientists to turn them to construction purposes.
Men never believed that the moon could be ever reached. Now that it has been reached, the question arises whether men could be sent out there to populate it. Further research can only tell. Meanwhile the whole world awaits with great expectation the great good that can come out of Space Travel. Let's hope it is for the benefits of all mankind.

The Fauna of Sri Lanka
This tropical paradise of ours is rich its fauna. The myriads of insects that creep, crawl and fly , the thousands of reptiles that creep in the jungle and water, the quadrupeds that stampede across the jungle and the flocks of birds that perch on the branches of trees are Sri Lanka's treasure. The centipede, the scorpion, the ants of various hues and venom, the snakes from the viper and the cobra to the mighty python and the iguanas inhabit in lower sections of the terrain.
The graceful deer, the mighty elephants, sambur, elk, moose, deer, leopard, porcupine, pangolin, ant-eater, wild-boar, weasel, scores of other quadrupeds are the delights of tourists who often see them in their natural habitats and yala and other sanctuaries.
Above this layer of beautiful wild life, we have the more beautiful multi-colored feathered species, the birds. The proud peacock, the King fisher, the wood-pecker, the teal, snipe, parrot, pigeon and hundreds of colored varieties make sanctuaries like kumana, a birds paradise.
The fauna of Sri Lanka are certainly a treasure that brings in a lot of foreign exchange because tourist come here to see them and they pay well for it. We should preserve our flora to keep our fauna alive and happy. The only danger to them is from the poacher who kills them for their flesh, skin and heads.

We are in the Age of Computers
This is the age of Robots and Computers. Science has advanced so much that robots and computers reign supreme in the age, which is also called the nuclear age. Robots which look so much as men can do the work of men fast, precisely, strongly, efficiently and beyond all expectation. These robots are mechanical monsters that can show no mercy. They have no soul and they are ruthless when let loose to kill. Like electricity, robots are good servant, but bad masters. Like the Frankestein the robots can kill its master.
The more comfort man seeks, the more his dangers are. If these robots are increased by mass production, then like machines after the industrial revolution, they will bring about an increase in the un-employment market. So like every thing that bring good, it also has evils.
Alongside with robot, man has another monster, the computer has been invented. Like the robot, these computer do a perfect efficient job, again only displace of thousands of workers and swelling the ranks of un-employed. History, they say, repeats itself. In this last quarter of the 20th century, we are having a repeat of the 18th century, when machines took the place of men and displaced thousands. It enriched the rich and impoverished the poor, further.

MNIK for Valentine
The much anticipated Shah Rukh Kajol starter My Name Is Khan (MNIK) hits the screen globally this valentine weekend from February 12."It is emotional drama. It's about a man and his wife but there is a lot of issues and very interesting plot point,"
This film from Director Karan Johar who directed Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Khabie Gham.He also adds that the movie had been the toughest project yet but being able to rope in his 'God Sent Couple' is a triumph itself."the best thing about the film is that one would feel that it is not the same Karan Johar who had made film like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Khabie Gham, who has also set out to make MNIK.
I am of the opinion that to break your form is far more challenging than to play in your on safety zone as a filmmaker by adhering to the norms of the rule and formula and making a film for which you are remembered," he added "MNIK is very special for both Karan and Me. unlike the rumors, it's not about terrorism, or 9/11.
"It's about a relationship between two people, between an individual and state, and between an individual and the country. "In short, there the three important component: love story, Islam and a mild form of autism, which forms the core of MNIK,"explains Shah Rukh who portray the lead role of Rizwan Khan in the movie.

The Mammoths is other species that have become extinct since the last ice age, dwarf forms of which may have survived as late as 2,000 BC, being the best-known of these.

The Internet
Internet is a huge computer network that is interconnected to huge amount of computer in many countries. It uses the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide. It is a network of networks that consists of millions of private and public, academic, business, and government networks of local to global scope which are linked by a broad array of electronic and optical networking technologies such as satellite connecting cable and many media. The Internet carries a gigantic array of information resources and services such as science and technology, daily news, life and many more.
Most noteworthy the inter-linked hypertext documents of the World Wide Web (WWW) and the infrastructure to support email.
The provenances of the Internet goes back to the 1960s when the United States funded experiment projects of its military agencies to decorate vigorous, fault-tolerant and distributed computer networks. As of 2009, an estimated quarter of Earth's population uses the services of the Internet. An iceberg - One main problem in New World
An iceberg is a large amount of ice broken off a glacier. The wind moves it in the sea. Only a small portion of an iceberg is visible on the sea.Icebergs are threat ships which avoid them by diverting their direction when they see them floating toward them. When these huge ice mountain float, gradually they are melted and layers fall on to the sea.
There had been times that the iceberg from Antarctic and Arctic regions towed by high powered ships to countries where water is scarce. Huge ring are fixed into the icebergs and strong nylon ropes are tied from the ships to the rings. It has been proved that icebergs contain fresh water which is good for human consumption. However, if this water is used for watering plants. Certain amount of sea water must be added as plants need salt.
